Paving company damages my son's car!

We've had a company putting in a new sewer line the last few months. Today they were paving the road where they had dug. Unfortunately they had very narrow pathways through the cut in the asphalt which was about a foot deep. I say unfortunately because my son missed the path and dropped his car into the hole. Two popped airbags are the result! When we went back for these pictures they were widening the path through the cutout. You can see (kind of) how deep it is. When I called the company I used the word "pothole" and the man said in a sarcastic way, "We don't put potholes in the road, Sir!"

I told him "You most certainly did! You cut the asphalt out of the road!" He's sending a claim form.

I'm not feeling too charitable about it. My son is very upset, his car is damaged, and everyone knows how expensive airbag replacement is. When he got home he was coughing and choking from the fumes caused by the airbag explosions. The dashboard was still smoking!

I'd followed a truck pulling a trailer through the same spot about an hour earlier. The truck made it through, but the trailer dropped into the hole. The path was very narrow and very hard to see. The paving company widened it after my son dropped his car into it. They better pay for the damage, or else.

Unbelieveable survey

I just received a phone survey. The questions were as follows:

1. How likely are you to vote in November? very likely, somewhat likely, not likely. I pressed 1
2. Are you more likely to vote Republican, Democrat, or independent? I pressed 1
3. Are you more likely to vote for Sharon Angle, Harry Reid, or someone else? I pressed 1
4. What is the best reason to vote for Harry Reid? Sharon Angle is dangerous or Harry Reid can do more for Nevada? Say what?

I waited in disbelief for more options, there were none. I hung up. If this is the kind of biased, unfair surveys Dingy Harry's people are using he's in deeper trouble than he knows!

Our great nation in peril...

For those who may be discouraged because we have a president that hates this country and is doing all he can to destroy it:

BOSTON – Striving for an epic upset in liberal Massachusetts, Republican Scott Brown pushed ahead of Democrat Martha Coakley on Tuesday in a U.S. Senate election that became a referendum on President Barack Obama's health care overhaul and his first year.

A loss — or even a narrow victory — by the once-favored Coakley for the seat that the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy held for nearly half a century in this Democratic stronghold could signal big political problems for the president's party this fall when House, Senate and gubernatorial candidates are on the ballot nationwide.

More immediately at stake was a critical 60th vote for Democrats to save their health care legislation and the rest of Obama's agenda. A 41st Republican in the 100-member Senate could allow the GOP to block the president's priorities with filibusters.

With 60 percent of precincts reported, Brown held a steady lead over Coakley.

Let's hope the lead continues!

I. Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.) SOURCE

If Pentagon whiz kid researchers at DARPA have anything to do with it, handheld fusion reactors could be more than just the stuff of science fiction. Controlling a fusion reaction, the same energy source that powers the sun, is a longtime dream of ambitious scientists. Fusion holds the key to nearly limitless energy.

Someone at DARPA must think a handheld fusion device is possible, because DARPA indicates that its Chip-Scale High Energy Atomic Beams could lead to "handheld power sources." Only problem is, the project doesn't appear in the 2010 budget, but that doesn't necessarily mean the researchers have given up on the idea.

There's little info about this mind-blowing project, but it certainly changes our assumptions about nuclear fusion. We were thinking you'd need a gigantic facility, lots of high-powered lasers, and zillions of dollars to control a fusion reaction. To hold this sort of thing in your hand? The fact that scientists are even talking about this possibility, and pursuing it with multimillion-dollar budgets, is astonishing.

Well, Obama has talked about the need for government intervention to prevent "bubble and bust" economics.

Jerry Doyle, former Wall Street broker, actor playing Michael Garibaldi on Babylon 5, and now the 7th biggest talk show host points out in Human Events that:

Economic fascism can be defined as government control over the four P’s: Product, Price, Profit Margin, and People

Then he uses Obama's takeover of Chrysler to prove that Obama has taken control of all of them. Let's examine this. Obama didn't like the product so he's requiring Chrysler to make cars no one wants (claiming they were already doing that and now he's going to fix it); he doesn't like the price so he's going to set the price, he now controls the profit margin and finally, he has taken control of the people that are allowed to have jobs and how much they are paid and has even seized the assets of investors and given those investment shares to the unions.

So is Obama a fascist? YES!!!!!!!!!
